(own I (belong (belong I grandfather) gun))

(equal (this gun) (belong (belong I grandfather) gun))

It has changed its barrel, breech and stock, so is it the
same gun. The point as usual is that the question may not arise.

(We would like a first order logic system that uses nouns as they
are used in natural language. We are interested in semantic issues
concerning the use of nouns - not the syntactic issues that seem to
me to have been emphasized by Montague).

Do people reason in natural language or in a less ambiguous mentalese?
Or in both according to circumstances?

Another approximation is ignoring the existence of more than one
language and possibly even the existence of synonyms. Then we
can say that that animal is spelled C A T.

Ambiguity of context. Circumscriptions are often used to make the context as
narrow (specific) as possible.

The temptation to indulge in philosophy is the temptation to split hairs.
The hairs are important but can often be ignored.
